Beta Readers for The BarryVanDyke Archives

Betty - I would be willing to be a Beta Reader for anybody who writes Diagnosis Murder Fan Fiction stories that heavily feature Steve Sloan. My favorite ones are the hurt/comfort stories. I always return the stories back to the writers as fast as I can and I double check and sometimes triple check for grammar. I have been a Beta Reader for several fan fiction writers.

Mary T. Kalnin - I have a BA in French language and literature and 1 year toward an MA before the money ran out. I analyzed and critiqued French literature for four years, and English literature for two. I am a published author in my professional life which is librarianship. My strongest points would be as a grammarian (I notice a heavy reliance on computer spell-checkers, so much so that the resulting grammatical errors detract from the stories). I can also spot gaps in the plots (even my own and I do correct them). I won't Beta the NC-17. Rarely does the graphic sex advance the story and I'm likely to say so. I am a firm believer in the old adage that one uses as much sex or violence as is necessary to set and advance the plot; anything more is gratuitous.

Kellyanne - I'm a psychology major, (one year away from my bachelors). I've been writing since I was nine years old, and my friends come to me when they want their stories edited. I took a writing course a few years ago, and I've learned to be a strict editor. I won't read NC-17, but you can send me any other DM fanfic.
